Renewable Systems Engineering are working according to Systems Engineering tools and processes, and we are a member of the INCOSE organisation (International Council on Systems Engineering).
Systems Engineering consists of many different advantages and aspects and the concept ensures, among others, a structured approach to managing requirements, interfaces, scopes and operations. Systems Engineering integrates all project disciplines across all project phases, and the tools and processes have a high degree of visual representation.
The origins of Systems Engineering can be traced back to the 1940s, where it was widely used after WW2 within the industries of aerospace, automobile and military, but so far the use of it has been limited in the field of offshore wind.
One main advantage of using Systems Engineering is the front-loading of engineering activities with the aim of reducing design changes, variation order costs and program delays.
